ABOUT (U)NIEK

UNiek Performing Arts is a theatrical company, founded by Niek Wassink. On Stage, Niek works as a singer, dancer and actor. Off Stage he is a teacher, director and choreographer.

Niek's theater career started at a young age, in the east of The Netherlands. He grew up with a love for music: Instead of a bedtime story, he would sing a song! After he joined a community theater group, he started dancing during highschool. He joined in competitions for both Latin-American and ballroom dancing.

Although a theater major seemed logical, Niek choose to study for a degree in teaching primary school and qualified from college with a bachelor in education.

​

In addition to his education, he continued  to train in dance, music and acting. The hard work paid off. After a year at the MusicAllFactory (Tilburg) and two years at the Dutch Musical Academy (Arnhem), Niek got accepted to a bachelor's program at Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in Amsterdam. He qualified with both an Associate Degree and a Bachelor.

Showing an audience the magical world of theatre, is what Niek loves most. Through a passionate dance, a comedy monologue or a intimate ballad, he tries to move the audience and share the magic.
